This week, Bellevue Middle School Seventh Graders created silhouettes!
The assignment was to create an artwork about themselves using their silhouette. Students looked at artist Charles Burns who creates silhouettes using black paper and scissors. They then spent time answering questions about themselves and creating symbols that represent who they are.

We are aware of the recent events taking place in and around Laurel County. Rest assured that our student safety is our top priority. We will not put our students in harm's way. We are monitoring the situation closely and have been in contact with the administration from Lynn Camp High School. We will share more information about our football game on Saturday when it becomes available. Please reach out to Mr. Scott Spicher at scott.spicher@bellevue.kyschools.us, or Mr. Jim Hicks at jim.hicks@bellevue.kyschools.us with any questions. GO TIGERS! #TigerPRIDE

REMINDER: Tomorrow is KY High Attendance Day! Every student who attends will receive a treat and be entered into a drawing for exciting prizes. Let's aim for 100% attendance!

In support of World Suicide Prevention Day, September 10th, Grandview Elementary participated in creating a poster with the theme "I matter." This activity aimed to raise awareness about positive self-talk and ensure that every child knows they are valued in this world.
Today, the Mental Health and Prevention Team talked with students at BMHS at lunch to spread awareness about the 988 lifeline for National Suicide Prevention Awareness Day.

In honor of Dot Day on September 16th, Middle School students are creating paintings using the theme dots. They listened to the book, The Dot, written and illustrated by Peter H. Reynolds and his twin brother Paul A. Reynolds. The theme of the book is to challenge everyone to believe in themselves and find the courage to “make their mark.”
They also learned about the artists Yayoi Kusama as a source of inspiration because she is an artist that uses polka dots throughout her art.

Every day of school counts! Parents and guardians play a crucial role in ensuring that students attend school consistently. Thursday, September 12th, is KY High Attendance Day! Let’s strive for 100% attendance!

ATTENTION BELLEVUE MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL FAMILIES!
Please be reminded that tomorrow, September 10th, is picture day!
Be sure to come to school prepared!

The Kentucky Directors of Pupil Personnel have designated Thursday, September 12th, as statewide High Attendance Day to emphasize the importance of consistent attendance for school success.
Bellevue Independent Schools are actively working to improve district-wide attendance because students who attend school and arrive on time are more likely to succeed.

After sending out Flat Rangers to State Parks a few weeks ago, Ms. O'Neill's class has received their first response! This response and pictures came all the way from Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park:
"You sent Flat Ranger to us just in time for one of the busiest weekends of the year, Labor Day Weekend. Before the guests began to arrive, he was able to tour the park, hike some of the many trails, and meet the friendly staff members. He welcomed guests from 20 different states as well as Jamaica while they visited us. After walking foot patrol at Pennyrile Beach, we were able to check out the lake from one of the paddle boats. While visiting the boat dock he fed the fish from the beach walkway, they enjoy putting on a show.
We saw an abundance of wildlife such as deer, ground hogs, raccoons, squirrels, and rabbits while patrolling the park.
