As we begin the 2025–2026 school year, we’re proud to share the powerful work our district has done to ensure every student has access to high levels of learning every single day. This year, our focus on curriculum, collaboration, and student support is stronger than ever.
📘 Guaranteed and Viable Curriculum
Our teachers are starting the year with a clearly defined Guaranteed and Viable Curriculum (GVC) in every content area. This means:
Every student has access to the same essential learning, no matter the classroom.
Instruction is aligned to priority standards that reflect Kentucky’s academic expectations.
Teachers have pacing guides, unit overviews, and high-quality instructional resources to support success.
This GVC is the foundation of strong, consistent instruction across our schools—and it’s all designed with student learning at the center.
🤝 Professional Learning Communities (PLCs)
This year, our staff will continue their work in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), where collaboration and reflection drive results. In weekly team meetings, teachers will:
Unpack standards and clarify learning targets
Design and analyze common assessments
Share strategies and support one another in real time
Respond to student learning needs through intervention and enrichment
We believe collective teacher efficacy is one of the most powerful drivers of student achievement—and our PLCs are leading the way.
📚 MTSS Handbook: A System of Support for All
We’ve updated and streamlined our Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) Handbook to ensure every student gets what they need to thrive—academically, behaviorally, and emotionally. Our MTSS plan includes:
Clear processes for identifying and supporting students
A focus on prevention, early intervention, and progress monitoring
Collaborative problem-solving at both the classroom and building level
Families can expect targeted support, consistent communication, and a deep commitment to student success at every tier.

We’re committed to growing great teachers—because great teachers change lives. This year, staff will have access to:
Job-embedded PD focused on student engagement, educator wellness, and Clifton Strengths assessments.
Ongoing coaching cycles aligned to teacher goals and district priorities
Cross-district collaboration
Support for implementing the GVC, using the MTSS Handbook, and strengthening PLC practices
