Hello BMHS Families!

As we approach the beginning of Christmas break, I would like to take a moment to thank you for your continued partnership, support, and commitment to our students and our overall school community.

The weeks leading up to the holidays and the end of the first semester are often busy, but they also provide an opportunity to reflect on the many accomplishments of our students and staff. Looking at our KSA data and our Winter MAP data, I am proud of the overall academic growth we are seeing. BMHS is on the rise and that is in large part due to the tremendous support we receive from our overall school community. I am also proud of the highlights provided by our athletic teams, our academic team, our band program, and our drama program. We have had large parent and community turnout at all of these events. That goes to show that community pride in Bellevue is back and we look forward to working with you to carry that momentum in the second semester.

Christmas break offers a well-deserved opportunity for rest, reflection, and time with family and friends. I encourage everyone to use this time to recharge and enjoy the season safely and responsibly. We look forward to welcoming students and staff back refreshed and ready to begin the new year with focus and enthusiasm. As a reminder, school will resume for our students that attend vocational school on Monday, January 5th. School will resume for all students on Tuesday, January 6th. Also, our next BMHS Parent/Family Update will come out on Friday, January 2nd.

This week, Bellevue High School students chose books, wrapped them as gifts, and presented them to their Grandview Elementary Tigers Read buddies!

During their time together, the students opened the gifts and wrote Christmas wish lists as they got ready for winter break.

Thank you to our WOO Award recipient, Bellevue Kroger, for generously donating donuts for all Bellevue Middle and High School students this morning!

A special thanks as well to Tammi Woodruff for organizing this thoughtful gesture. The students were also thrilled to be greeted this morning by Buddy the Elf, who helped spread some holiday cheer!

At this week's Board Meeting, we presented the WOO Award to the Bellevue Gold Star Chili!

The WOO Award (Welcoming Outstanding Organizations) recognizes businesses and community partners who go above and beyond in their support of our school district. Their partnership strengthens our schools and community, and we honor them for their outstanding commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of our students.

The Bellevue Gold Star Chili consistently goes above and beyond to support us in any way they can. Their generous contributions help make our family engagement events, athletics programs, and support for staff and students possible. We truly appreciate their continued partnership and look forward to working with them even more in the future!

This week our Financial Math, students put their learning into action by researching and presenting on a business of their choice! 📊💼 They explored company background, marketing and branding strategies, target markets, industry and competitors, and ethics and social responsibility.
