ATTENTION BHS JUNIORS! All Juniors should report to BHS both Thursday and Friday, even if they are a Gateway or Vocational School student for Torch Prep. Please read below for more information on Torch Prep: Juniors will be participating in Torch Prep, and an ACT preparation program on Thursday and Friday, January 16th and 17th. All Juniors are to report to school from 8-3 PM both days to participate. What is TorchPrep Blitz? TorchPrep Blitz is a comprehensive, in-person training program that equips students with proven strategies to tackle the ACT® test with confidence. During this session, your child will receive expert instruction on each section of the ACT® test, including English, Math, Reading, and Science. The course is designed to help students identify their strengths and weaknesses and utilize a personalized timing plan to improve their scores. Key TorchPrep Blitz Benefits: Expert Instruction: Experienced ACT® test tutors will provide in-depth guidance and support in general testing strategies and subject-specific strategies. Proven Strategies: Students will learn time-tested techniques to approach each section of the ACT® test. Confidence Building: The program aims to reduce test anxiety and build self-confidence through preparedness. Students will enter the ACT® test with a game plan. Algebra II students created grid art using at least four different parent functions to graph an image using Desmos (online graphing calculator). They studied parent functions (linear, absolute value, quadratic, cubic, exponential, square root) and learned about transformations of the graphs! Students used what they learned about parent functions and transformations to create the images.

Attention future sophomores of 2025-26 school year! If you are interested in dual credit classes at Gateway, here is what you need to know: • Deadline to apply is March 15th. Pick up an application from Mr. Pelgen. • Sophomore students must have a 3.5 GPA. • You must take an ACT exam and hit at least one of the following benchmarks. Visit act.org to register. o English - 18 o Math - 19 o Reading - 20 • ACT scores must be reported to the school before the start of the 25-26 school year. • Bellevue families are responsible to pay the discounted dual credit tuition rate during the sophomore year. High School Art Students created collages using magazines! They looked at Megan Coyle's collage artwork, practiced it, and learned about her as an artist. Some students found their own technique while others mimicked Coyle's style!
