We are currently without electricity at Grandview. All students have eaten lunch, we still have functioning restrooms, and the temp in the building is comfortable. We feel that all students are safe until dismissal at 2. However, if you feel you would like to pick up your student, you are welcome to do so. We will not mark students absent for leaving early today.

At last night's Board Meeting, Willow Lowe-Hoelmer was recognized for placing 3rd in the Junior Division at the Kentucky National History Day Competition and being chosen as first alternate to the national competition in Washington DC! The National History Day Competition is the most prestigious history competition in the United States and only two students per state move on to the national competition. As Willow is first alternate, this places her among the top 150 students in the nation. Her project, "The United States responsibility to the Cherokee Nation" was commended by judges as very unique, a depth of primary sources, and especially loved the multiple perspectives she used. Congratulations!

Tonight, we honored Coach Rob Sanders who is retiring after 20 years as the head coach of our Bellevue Baseball Team. In his 20 years here, Coach Sanders has made a huge impact on the team and the community. He has done so much for our baseball program, being the coach with the most wins in school history, and has built the team into what it is today and what it will continue to be in the future. Thank you for everything you have done for Bellevue Baseball, our schools, our students, and our community Coach Sanders!
