Mental Health Action Day was founded to shift our mental health culture from awareness to action! This movement is powered by a growing coalition of more than 2,000 nonprofits, brands, government agencies, and influential leaders from more than 32 countries that spread the message that, just like our physical health, we can take actions to improve our mental health. Together, we'll do even more to drive our culture from awareness to action on mental health. BISD will be observing Mental Health Action Day on Friday, May 17th, 2024. We are inviting students, families, and the community to take action and purchase one of our available t-shirts to raise money for mental health efforts. The funds received will be used for mental health and prevention initiatives available to Bellevue’s students and families (i.e., The Dinner Table Project). Students, staff, families, and community members are encouraged to wear the shirt on Mental Health Action Day. Please see the Mental Health/Prevention Services page on our website for more information on t-shirt ordering.

Are you a parent of a student athlete or a coach? Matthew Banker of MB Sports Consulting will be conducting a live webinar geared for parents of athletes (ages 10-18) as well as club/HS coaches and directors to better understand the college athletics landscape and support their kid's athletic experience. This is not related to any specific college or university! Here's the event page/registration information: http://post.spmailtechno.com/f/a/eavdshNZ3Wo8TvGOptIt2Q~~/AAE9zQA~/RgRoCjqUP0SAaHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZXZlbnRicml0ZS5jb20vZS9jb2xsZWdlLXNwb3J0cy1yZWNydWl0aW5nLWluLTIwMjQtYS13ZWJpbmFyLWZvci1wYXJlbnRzLXJlZ2lzdHJhdGlvbi04NDU4NDcwOTA0MTc_YWZmPW9kZHRkdGNyZWF0b3JXA3NwY0IKZicUBylmrSo-gFIfamltLmhpY2tzQGJlbGxldnVlLmt5c2Nob29scy51c1gEAAAAAA~~ This webinar is less about "I promise to get your child recruited" and more about tips, best practices, and traps to avoid geared for parents (primarily) regardless of the sport their kid may play. And the content is appliable to parents and athletes involved with any sports. Matthew's 20+ years of college athletics administration experience ensures that the content is geared toward helping parents and students make informed decisions and be more efficient with their time and money around youth sports as it pertains to recruiting. It will touch on scholarships and NIL, but also navigating communications from coaches, understanding what coaches are looking for, red flags to be mindful of, etc. We hope to see you there!
