Senior Jaylah Dowell, a Kentucky Governor’s Scholars Program member, has been honored as a Harold H. “Hal” Smith Scholar. The Hal Smith Scholar Award, in honor of Harold R. Smith, a Newport native and Newport High School graduate, is given each year to a student who graduates from a High School in Northern Kentucky’s River Cities. This award is presented to a student that excels in academics, leadership, and athletics. Jaylah is a leader in the classroom as well as the multiple sports she is involved in. #LoveTheVue #TigerPride
