Dear Bellevue Families,
Happy New Year and Welcome Back! I hope everyone enjoyed the winter break and are rested and recharged to begin the second semester of the 2024-2025 school year. It looks like mother nature may be altering our plans for students to be back in person on Monday, January 6, 2025.
As a reminder, in the event of inclement weather, the district may close or utilize Non Traditional Instruction (NTI) days. In the event a NTI day is used, your child’s school/teacher will send home specific information explaining the events of the day. Families will be notified of any change in plans via the one call system as well as from our website and App, social media platforms, and local news outlets. Please make sure we have your correct contact information in the event a call needs to be made. We hope to keep a regular schedule as much as possible, but weather or sickness may dictate otherwise. Additionally, schools will be closed on Monday, January 20, 2025 in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
In January, Kentucky recognizes the contribution of school board members across the Commonwealth. In Bellevue, we are extremely fortunate to have five dedicated members who care deeply about the success of our students. As superintendent, I am fortunate to witness the selfless service of our board members. These individuals do not accept their allocated per diem, yet spend their time at various school functions to support our students and also spend long hours preparing for meetings by reading reports in order to provide input on discussions regarding academics, budgets, facilities, and much more. They are always available to listen and are committed to helping Bellevue be the best place to learn and work. When you see Mr. Brandon Cowans, Ms. Julia Fischer, Ms. Jenny Hazeres, Ms. Jenn Owens, and Mr. Dan Swope, please offer a “Thank you” for all they do for students, staff and the community.
Board meetings are held on the third Wednesday of each month at 6:00 in the Bellevue Middle/High School Library. The schedule, along with agendas and minutes, can be found on our website.
As we continue the rest of the 2024-2025 school year, I encourage all students, staff and families to remain committed to the academic excellence achieved thus far. We will continue to pursue our mission to Engage, Equip, and Empower students to accomplish our vision of Developing Courageous Thinkers and Confident Learners ready to thrive and positively impact the world around them.
Board members, administrators, teachers and staff, and all stakeholders are essential to helping us achieve student success. “Thank you” to the entire Bellevue community for your commitment to our students. We are blessed with such caring individuals.
I wish everyone a happy and healthy 2025! Let it be our best year yet - full of learning, growth, and many successes!
With Tiger Pride,
Misty Middleton
Superintendent
