Dear Bellevue Families,

WOW!  It is hard to believe the 2023-2024 school year is coming to an end. As I write this, there are 18 school days left.  May 23, 2024 will be the last day for our students and the Class of 2024 will graduate on Friday evening, May 24, 2024 at 7:00 at Ben Flora Gym.  Speaking of the Class of 2024, they did a fantastic job on their senior capstone presentations where they demonstrated their proficiency in our Portrait of a Graduate standards.  We are so proud of them and know they have bright futures ahead.

Our students and staff have filled this school year with accomplishments in the classroom and in many extra- and co- curricular activities. I am blessed to see the hard work of our students and staff each school day.  We will be recognizing students at many end of the year events (see schedule below), but first we get the opportunity to recognize our amazing staff during National Teacher Appreciation Week.

National Teacher Appreciation Week is May 6-10.  We are extremely fortunate to have a district full of caring individuals who put students first. I encourage our parents and community members to use this opportunity to thank a staff member for their impact in the safety, nurturing, and growing of our students.

As we come “Down the Stretch” there will be many events and activities taking place.  Please take note of the end of year events.  I hope to see you at one or more of these occasions as we celebrate a wonderful school year with our amazing students.

  • May 3-10- KSA State Testing (Please be sure students are in attendance, on time, and well rested prior to testing).

  • May 9:  Preschool Graduation – 6:00 at Ben Flora Gym

  • May 14:  BMHS Underclassman Honor’s Night - 7:00

  • May 17:  GES Field Day

  • May 21:  Election Day- No School

  • May 22:  Senior Honors Night - 5:00 Parade Starts

  • May 23:  5th Grade Graduation - 4:30 at Ben Flora Gym

  • May 24:  High School Graduation - 7:00

In closing, I want to thank the students, staff, parents, community, and other stakeholders for a wonderful school year.  I appreciate the support of all and look forward to working together for many years to make Bellevue Independent the best place for students.

With Tiger Pride,

Misty Middleton
